Every septic tank relies on naturally occurring bacteria to digest waste and paper. Harsh chemicals, antibacterial soaps and cooking fats tip that balance the wrong way, sludge accumulates faster than it breaks down, and the system backs up or starts to smell. Pump-outs treat the symptom; the imbalance returns as soon as normal use resumes.
Regular dosing with the right bacteria and enzymes keeps the tank working the way it was designed to. It is a small monthly habit that avoids an expensive repair.
